Honey For Cold Sores (Herpes)

Honey For Cold Sores (Herpes)

Honey has long been used as a natural remedy for a variety of ailments, including cold sores. Honey is thought to work as a cold sore treatment because it is a natural antibacterial and antiviral agent. Additionally, honey is known to be a natural humectant, meaning it helps to keep the skin hydrated.

To use honey as a cold sore treatment, simply apply a small amount of honey to the affected area. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. You can do this several times a day until your cold sore has healed.

If you don't have honey on hand, you can also try using a small amount of Manuka honey. Manuka honey is a type of honey that is produced in New Zealand and is known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties.
